As a Project Manager and Planetary Protection Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I have led high-profile missions such as Europa Clipper, InSight, and Mars 2020, ensuring mission success and compliance with planetary protection standards. I currently lead a team of seven on the Europa Clipper mission, managing resources and schedules while overseeing a ~$5 million budget and driving innovative process optimizations that have significantly reduced costs and increased efficiency. I have also developed novel procedures and advanced project documentation to meet NASA’s stringent requirements. In addition, I collaborate closely with key stakeholders such as SpaceX, NASA Launch Services Program, John Hopkins APL, and NASA’s Office of Planetary Protection to facilitate technical forums, briefings, and reviews, ensuring clear communication across diverse teams.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong ability to manage complex projects, streamline operations, and address risks through proactive strategies, earning multiple awards, including the NASA Group Achievement Award and several JPL Team and Voyager Awards. I’m also passionate about sharing my knowledge, with 3 conference presentations and 10 publications in the field.
